MTN telecommunication is dorminent Nigeria nowadays but recently it announced that they have loses five million subscribers across Nigeria. The company announced that in the last three to four months, they have witnessed a 0.95 increase in users below the 25 they witnessed same time last year. According to their cheif executive Sifiso Dabengwa over five million users been disconnected because of their failure to register their sim card. He also added that Aggressive price competition, weakening macroeconomic conditions in most of our markets and unfavourable exchange rate movements continued to impact financial performance for the quarter.

It's bothering me a lot seeing other Smartphone users complaining that they are unable to tweak their device IMEI due to the fact that their device failed to work with series given methods of Changing IMEI. Today, we are going to discuss how to Root and change IMEI of Huawei Android devices.
This tutorial will guide the Huawei Smartphone users to Root and change the IMEI of their Smartphone easily in order to flex with Glo Bis, Etisalat Chat/Smartpak of N50, MTN bblited of N70 etc. Also the rooting will make you enjoy your phone to the fullest.

The method has tested and confirmed working fine with Huawei Y600-U20,  Huawei Y5, Y3, Huawei G750 (honor 3x and 3C), Huawei MediaPad T1.7.0 (Tablet).

Note that the method also works for other stubborn MTK devices that are difficult to change it's IMEI through MTK Engineering Mode.

Materials Needed For Rooting

• KingRoot 4.1.0.249.apk [Download it here]
• Strong Internet connection [Town ON your Data Connection is highly recommended]

To Root Your Huawei Android Smartphone

1. Install and run KingRoot. Wait till it detect the phone

2. It will verify your root status >> Click on START ROOT

3. The rooting process should begin and you will see something like the image below

4. During the process, your device may restart, don’t let your mind's sake, your device is safe. As soon as your Huawei reboots, the rooting process will continue automatically.

5. You may get a prompt to install an app. Ignore the warning, mark the check-box and tap “Install anyway”

6. After a minute or soon, the rooting process should be completed!

It is simple as that. You may download Root Checker from Play Store to verify your root privileges. After downloading, simply Install Root Checker, run it and you should get a success message after then.

To Change Your Huawei Smartphone IMEI

In this method, we are going to use an application called Chamelephon. It's simple and short for those who are new to this. Simply follow the steps carefully. No need of CDS information or engineering mode at all.

1. Download Chamelephon.apk here
2. Open Chamelephon and grant it superuser access permission

3. The first box is for the IMEI of the sim 1, if you are using a dual sim phone. And the second box for Sim 2.

4. Input the IMEI number you wish to change to in any of the boxes. Simply leave any of the boxes you did not wish to change as the way you met it. 
5. Then click Apply New IMEIs.
6. A popup box will ask “Do you confirm changing the IMEIs?” Click on Change button.

7. Close everything and restart your phone or put it in Airplane mode for 5 seconds before you back it to normal mode, then dial *#06# to view your new IMEIs.

Note that Changing of IMEI is illegal in some countries, and Shelaf will not be held responsible for any consequences that befall the changer.
Also, backup your original imei incase anything goes wrong, then revert using the above procedures for changing.

» Save the SuperSU.zip that you downloaded to your phone's SD card

» Now, boot your phone into TWRP Recovery Mode (by Holding the Vol Up and Power button simultaneously for 5 seconds)
» In TWRP Recovery, Choose install zip from SD card - to choose a zip from SD card use Vol up and down scroll up and down, then choose the Supersu.zip file from the root of your SD card.
Scroll to yes and install, after a successful flashing go back and reboot.

It is simple as that. You may download Root Checker from Play Store to verify your root privileges. After downloading, simply Install Root Checker, run it and you should get a success message after then.

To Change Your Tecno Camon C8 IMEI to BB IMEI.

Note: It's not a must for you to root your Tecno Camon C8 before you can change it's IMEI, the below method of changing IMEI can work for your Tecno Camon C8 without rooting it, but rooting your phone will make you enjoy your phone the fullest.


1. First of all, you need 15 Digits Blackberry Generated IMEI. Simply download BBGEN. epic version here, to generate BB IMEI on your Android Device or Download GIPv4.1 Software to your PC here 
2. Also download and install MTK Engineering Mode from play store.  
3. Open it and click on MTK Settings

4. Then wipe your screen to left site to see Connectivity options.

5. Scroll down to CDS Information and tap on it.

6. Then, look for Radio Information, tap on it and you'll see something like: Phone1 -
Phone2 -.

7. Click on phone 1. If you want to change your sim1 or sim2.  
8. You will see AT+    
9. Type any letter in the search box after AT+ and delete the letter you typed and then, choose;

For Phone 1:
“AT+EGMR=1,7,”YOUR NEW IMEI NO” (make sure you put a space between AT+ EGMR)

For Phone 2:
“AT+EGMR=1,10,”YOUR NEW IMEI NO” (make sure you put a between space AT+ EGMR)
Note that you are to put a space after + not before + as show below;
AT+ EGMR=1,10,”YOUR NEW IMEI NO"

10. After that, select SEND AT COMMAND. You will see a message "AT Command Msent" 

11. Close everything and restart your phone, then dial *#06# to view your new IMEI.
12. Now, configure the APN of your Smartphone with blackberry.net and activate it as your default setting. You can then subscribe to Glo Bis by dialing *777*21# or text COMONTH to 777 for just N1,000 and you are good to enjoy Glo Bis on your Tecno Camon C8!
